2010: Pregnant with Possibilities

You are reading between the lines correctly. Tim and I expecting our first child this summer!!!!!

After a year of unbelievable changes in 2009, we thought  2010 would be a good time to toss in child-rearing. I mean seriously, why not?

We traveled to Sedona and Rome. I applied to UCLA's doctoral program and was accepted. We spent the summer house-hunting. Found a house. I started the UCLA program. I changed jobs. We moved into the house. Tim changed jobs... and surprise! We're having a baby!

Totally logical progression. So, the next few blogs will probably be about being pregnant. I have a few good stories already.... lol... that make me laugh just thinking about them. Stay tuned.... lol... seriously... lol...

For now let me tell you how completely and totally honored I am to be married to Tim. I knew when I married him that he was smart, strong, resilient, but over the years, I have been more and more and more impressed with just how much character he has. He has always possessed an enormous amount of love and care, and I couldn't ask for a better friend, better life-partner, or lover. With all my heart, I believe he is going to be a fantastic father. Recently, with the surprise of being pregnant, he has been amazing in ways that I could never have imagined. I am more in love with him today then when we first started dating. Which is a good thing, because I am having his child.... lol... seriously, though, Tim is better than my dreams. We will be celebrating seven years of marriage and ten years of our relationship on July 12th. The baby is due July 21st.

For those of you who thinks this is sappy, and can barely stand to read it, let me say that I am writing this for the record. Tim's been reading a book that says I am going to be complaining about him each week of my pregnancy, so I want him to know that I love him no matter what I say or do as grow to be the size of a house.

Happy New Year!

  1. You are going to be a great mother. Better than great. I'm so happy for you and Tim and wish you all the best during the pregnancy and in the many years to come. I love you so very much and if ever you need something, I will drive my butt up to LA and take care of it for you. I just went through all this with my best friend in North Carolina. In fact, I was there for the birth, so I am experienced now in the ways of a pregnant woman. Haha. Love you Rach, hugs and kisses!

  2. congrats! Very sweet post, as a pregnant lady about a week apart from you, I can say that I haven't hit the "hate my husband" stage yet either but I'm sure it will happen. Nice of you to write something so thoughtful and loving now.
