After waiting an hour on hold, that is what tech support at LAUSD called me today.... "a pioneer."
I am savvy enough to know that is code for "we-dunno-what-the-heck-you-are-trying-to-do" and "we-are-under-a-budget-crisis-and-dont-have-time-to-chart-new-territories."
Geesh. All I want to do is setup the outlook web express exchange server with my apple mail, ical, and contacts. It's not like I am asking for the cure to cancer or anything.
The lady who called me "a pioneer" said that she couldn't help me, but I could call "operations." Maybe they might be able to help me. I laughed. She must have thought I was new.... like fresh off the Mayflower, new. Since when does tech support fall under the purview of "operations"? Operations deals with plant issues, school safety, and such. If my computer was on fire because of an electrical plug, I could see why I should call operations. She just wanted me off the phone.
As a newly christened LAUSD Tech support pioneer, I got it to sync for a second. All my contacts loaded and then walah! next second it was no longer working. If anyone works for LAUSD, uses an Apple on the Snow Leopard system and has any ideas on how to make it work with our LAUSD.net outlook web express mail server...... I would love to be your new best friend this week. Call me.
