Adventures in Traffic: Part I

Blinkers

Recently, I have been working on a theory that my blinkers are secretly sending out morris-coded messages to other drivers. I wish mine would signal- move the blankity- blank- blank- blank out of my way-but instead, it seems be to signaling that I want to stay in same lane that I am in. Everyone seems to speed up and hover in my blind spot whenever I turn the darn thing on. I am dying to know how to mod that feature on my vehicle.

Every once in a while, I will pretend to swerve into the next lane just to create some room. I get over, but its because a cop thinks I am drunk. The shoulder lane and a ticket is not exactly what I was swerving for.

I am considering the use of those old-school hand signals for lane changes, but I wonder if I would look like a member of the Third Reich with my arms a-wavin out my window and its LA... so you know.... I could inadvertently throw a gang sign. It happens.

I am also taking into consideration whether or not I should just roll down my windows and shouting (sweetly) Hi helloooo please, get out of the way.. but then again there has been that rash of unexplained freeway shootings on the news...... sooo. hmph.

I am open to suggestions, people....because now I am just sitting in the same lane and ponder the purpose of blinkers and questioning their power to change lanes.
